      On  June  10,  2000  between  2:00 PM  and  7:00 PM,  Marietta  will  play  host  to  some  of  the  fastest  riders  on  two  (2)  wheels  as  Dream  Ride  Projects  presents  the  Historic  Marietta  Bicycle  Races.       Utilizing  parts  of  Front,  Gay,  Market  and  Locust  Streets,  cyclists  will  reach  speeds  of  35  mph  in  a  high  speed  pursuit  of  over  $2,500.00  in  cash  and  prizes.
 
 
      The  featured  event  will  be  the  Elite  Men's  50-Mile  Race.       This  is  a  chance  to  see  some  of  the  fastest  sprinters  in  the  world  as  they  hone  their  skills  in  preparation  of  the  2000  Olympics  in  Sydney.       Scheduled  to  participate  will  be  Olympic  hopefuls  from  Australia,  Canada,  New Zealand,  South Africa  and  the  United  States.
 
 
      Mark  this  date  on  your  calendars  and  come  out  to  enjoy  the  food,  music,  fun  and  racing.
 
 
      The  course  will  be  posted  for  "No  Parking"  during  the  race.       During  the  races,  you  will  be  able  to  drive  within  the  course  by  using  Hazel  Avenue.       However,  we  ask  that  you  avoid  driving  through  the  race  area  unless  absolutely  necessary.       Thank  you  for  your  cooperation.
