| With political fighting in governments and organizations around the world including, our own veteran organizations, we must take a time out to remember and honor those veterans who fought and lost their lives for Liberty and the belief in human rights. |
| The men and women had a job to do, and we do to. When our forefathers founded this country and proclaimed Liberty for all Americans, they didn't mean all the hard work was over. It was only a beginning, for our new nation. We must continually fight to uphold the ways that worked to make us free. We must show the younger generation how important Memorial Day is, and to respect America's values. |
| Memorial Day is just one step in the ongoing process of upholding the Constitution, the "Rule Book" our forefathers wrote to follow. We must also pray to God to give us strength to continue America's faith in freedom and justice to uphold the Republic of the United States of America. |
| Please let's stop fighting and debating who should or should not be the Commander of our veteran organizations. It is a privilege to belong to our veteran organizations. They were founded to honor, help and give thanks to our veterans of foreign wars. Not to entertain just any relatives or social members that want to party. |

| The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic mutual help, war-time veterans organization. A community service organization. |
| The American Legion was organized to protect our history, our pride, our honor, our flag. To preserve and enhance patriotism and education. To help all children realize their full potential. To implement the legislative mandates of Legionnaires. To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America. To deal with economic issues that affect all veterans. To help veterans maintain and understand benefit claims. To devotion to mutual helpfulness. |

| For nearly a century, the VFW has helped our nation's veterans by providing programs and services which; strengthen comradeship among their members, perpetuate the memory and history of their fallen soldiers, foster patriotism, defend the Constitution, and promote service to their communities and their country. |
| Most importantly, thanks to the generosity of so many proud Americans, the VFW has been able to help find assistance for worthy veterans in need or for their families. |
| Today Monday May 31st is Memorial Day. Please go watch the Parades and attend the Memorial Day Services at the Cemeteries, where those that died for our Republic are laid to rest. But most importantly, lay down your differences for a day, and go to your hometown American Legion, VFW or other veteran organization after the Parades and Memorial Services, and give those Veterans, Commanders, and Officers a "Big Thanks" for fighting to continually keep our "Rights" of "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. |
